Goshajinkigan bij neuropathie door Oxaliplatin
Goshajinkigan is een Japans kruid dat onderzocht is in hoeverre het neuropathie vermindert. Dat door het te geven samen met het anti-kanker middel Oxaliplatin.
Oxaliplatin is een onderdeel van een chemokuur, die wel met een afkorting FOLFOX genoemd werd. Goshajinkigan (GJG) is een traditional Japans kruidenextract (Kampo) dat ingezet wordt bij de behandeling van 
diabetische neuropathische symptomen.
Het preparaat bestaat uit 10 verschillende kruiden. De studie was retrospectief bij 90 patiënten. Maar liet wel duidelijk zien dat het gebruik van Goshajinkigan het aantal perifere neuropathieën verminderde.
Uit de zogenaamde Kaplan curves, is te zien is dat het minst neuropathie voorkwam in de groep die het kruidenmengsel kreeg.
In de conclusie stelden de auteurs
Although the number of patients was small, we found that the incidence of peripheral neuropathy was markedly lower in the groups that received GJG when compared with those that did not receive GJG; moreover, there was no Grade 3 peripheral neuropathy in the patients given GJG.
